Rules of the Game
SETTING UP
Shuffle the cards well and deal four to each
player. Place the remaining cards face down
to form the stock.
PLAY
The player at dealer's left plays first. Play
passes to the left.
In your turn you must draw one card from the
stock into your hand, then must play one card
from your hand.
PLAYING A CARD
There are four ways to play a card.
- You may play any cat face up in front of
you on the table if you do not have a cat
of that color showing.
- You may play a boot
on any other player's cat on the table.
Discard the cat and the boot.
- You may play a can of tuna in front of you,
steal an opponent's cat on the table, and place
it in front of you if you do not have a cat
of that color showing.
Discard the can of tuna.
- You may discard any card by placing it face up on the discard pile.
RESHUFFLING
As soon the stock is used up, shuffle the
discards to make a new stock.
SCORING
If you show all five cats, discard them all
and score one point.
The other players' cards remain on the table.
The first player to score five points wins the game.
Short Game
Play as described above.
The first player to score three points wins the game.
Solitaire Play
Shuffle the cards and turn them up one at a time.
When you turn up a cat, place it in front of you
if you do not already have a cat of that color.
Otherwise discard it.
When you turn up a can of tuna, designate it as any
cat you like and play it as that cat.
When you turn up a boot, discard it and one
cat
or can of tuna. If you have no cats
or cans of tuna showing,
just discard the boot.
When you show all five cats, discard them all
and score one point.
When the stock is used up, stop. You win if you
scored seven or more points.
